Meditation for Barristers and Solicitors Chambers of 9 Bedford Row October/November 2016

By

Barristers and solicitors spend significant amounts of time in ‘fight or flight’ mode when dealing with the stress of advocacy and litigation. Meditation, when practiced regularly, can lead to a reduction in everyday stress levels and boost feelings of wellbeing.

Gillian Higgins, a senior international criminal practitioner at 9 Bedford Row, will be conducting a new series of “Meditation for Barristers and Solicitors” sessions at The Chambers of 9 Bedford Row.

These sessions are designed for beginners and will address a wide range of issues including the management of stress, how meditation can increase focus, improve sleep, strengthen professional relationships and increase feelings of wellbeing.

Each session will contain different, practical meditations with the aim of sharing a range of simple techniques. There will also be advice on how to build a daily practice and useful suggestions on further reading.

Gillian has practised as a barrister for 17 years. She is also a qualified meditation teacher with the British School of Meditation.

The sessions will take place at the Chambers of Steven Kay QC, 9 Bedford Row on the following dates:

Tuesday 25th October 2016 (6.15-7.15pm)
Tuesday 1st November 2016 (6.15-7.15pm)
Tuesday 8th November 2016 (6.15-7.15pm)
Tuesday 15th November 2016 (6.15-7.15pm)

The cost of each session is £15. Booking in advance for each session is required. Spaces are limited.

If you wish to attend one or more of these sessions, please reserve your place by emailing Gillian directly at gillian.higgins@9bedfordrow.co.uk
