Libya’s Tobruk Government Refuses to Sign UN Peace Proposal

By

The internationally recognized government of Libya has refused to sign the United Nations proposal for a power-sharing arrangement with rival Islamist-led authorities based in Tripoli.

The recognised Tobruk based government allegedly turned down the proposal because the UN would not exclude revisions that the Islamist authorities had made to the agreement.

These changes are said to have been added without the Tobruk government’s consent.
