Kosovo’s ‘Special Court’ to Encounter Obstacles

Earlier this month it was revealed that a special court is to be set up in Kosovo to investigate former Kosovo Liberation Army fighters for alleged war crimes alleged to have been committed throughout the 1990s. The issues of witness protection and securing the cooperation of national institutions in the process of the collection of evidence have been raised as potential obstacles which the Special Court will need to tackle in order to operate as an effective institution.
