International Law Association (British Branch) – Annual Conference, September 22nd-23rd 2017

By

On the 22nd and 23rd of September the British branch of the International Law Association will hold their annual conference in London. The theme of this year’s meeting is New International Order In an Isolationist World. The meeting aims to address the fresh obstacles international law is encountering in many parts of the world due to the current political and economic climate as evidenced by the challenges facing the ICC, Brexit and the presidency of Donald Trump.

The conference will include a keynote speech from Ben Emmerson QC, UN Special Rapporteur on Counter-Terrorism and Human Rights. Also at the event will be selected speakers from various fields including private practice, the public sector and academia.

Throughout the course of the two days six panels will take place covering the following subjects: peace and security; human rights and international humanitarian law, international trade law, international investment law, regionalism, and accountability and remedies under international law.

The event will be held at:

Clifford Chance, 10 Upper Bank Street, London, E14 5JJ
