HRW Research Uncovers Children Being Trained and Deployed by Taliban Forces

Recent research carried out by Human Rights Watch has revealed that since 2015, Taliban forces in Afghanistan have been training and deploying children between the ages of 13 – 17 years for various military tasks.

Human Rights Watch conducted interviews with relatives of 13 children who have been recruited as Taliban soldiers over the past year, and verified these accounts through further discussions with civil society activists, political analysts, and the United Nations.
