Croatia Issues War Crimes Indictment Against ‘Captain Dragan’

By

An attorney’s office in the Croatian city of Split has issued a war crimes indictment against Dragan Vasiljkovic, an ex-Serb paramilitary commander, otherwise known in the Balkans as ‘Captain Dragan’. The alleged crimes include the torture and killing of Croatian soldiers and civilians during the Croatian War of Independence (1991-95).

Vasiljkovic is also known as Daniel Snedden in Australia, where he holds citizenship and worked as a golf instructor. He has been held in custody in Croatia since July 2015, after being deported from Australia, having fought his extradition for nine years.
