Burma’s Treatment of the Rohingya Violates International Law

By

Burma Campaign UK has today published a briefing paper which finds that Burma’s treatment of the Rohingya violates international law, and that the international community may be failing in its duty under the doctrine of the Responsibility to Protect.

The briefing paper considers Burma’s Citizenship Law of 1982 in light of Burma’s obligations under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and international human rights norms.

The full paper is available here.
