9 Bedford Row event: “Extradition, Brexit, INTERPOL and the General Election”

By

On 14 January 2020, 9 Bedford Row’s Extradition Group hosted a panel discussion with guest speaker Alison Riley (Kingsley Napley), Ben Joyes, Alex Tinsley and Jonathan Swain.

The event focused on the outlook for extradition from “exit day”, through the “transition period” and beyond to the potential transition of EU cases to Part 2 of Act. Speakers also discussed specific issues such as settled status, sentence transfer, EU law enforcement databases and INTERPOL.

Chambers would like to extend its gratitude to Alison for her contributions to an informative evening and to the many solicitors who attended.

Outline slides from the event are available here. For detail on any issue, contact Chambers.

We will soon announce a date for our next event in Spring 2020, which will look at the role of extradition lawyers in international and foreign litigation challenging specialty violations.
