Syria’s Arch of Triumph Demolished by ISIS Militants


According to both eyewitness accounts and Syria’s Directorate General for Antiquities and Museums, the Arch of Triumph, which stood in the city of Palmyra, has been destroyed by ISIS militants. The iconic 1,800-year-old monument was blown up on Sunday​ 4th​ October. UNESCO has described the act as a war crime.
